Our Story

As anyone who lives with a food allergy knows, finding delicious things to eat can be tricky.Your friends are all ordering pizza but they don’t have gluten-free crusts. Your child has to go to a birthday party but the cake won’t be safe so you have to send them along with their own dessert so they don’t feel left out. Everyone’s sitting down for a slice of pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving and you’re having a coconut macaroon…again.

It might not seem like a big deal to some, but food and the sharing of it, brings us together. That’s why we, at Pure Love Bakery, strive everyday to make food that doesn’t make you feel left out. In fact, you’ll be wanting to share it with others. Without having to say it’s gluten-free. (well maybe not sharing the whole thing. You’re the one who has the allergy after all)

Karen and Lynn have over a combined 40 years of food service experience. Karen honed her skills running restaurant kitchens and Lynn spent years as a pastry chef. This is the third kitchen they’ve worked in together and they both bring their own unique talents to the bakery. As the resident celiac, Lynn knows the food she misses the most and strives to recreate those foods for others. Karen knows food and what it should taste like and makes sure anything that reaches our customers is the best it can be.

We also know that most people don’t just have one allergy. Maybe you can’t tolerate dairy or eggs, or nuts, or nightshades, or bananas or all of those at once! When we are creating our recipes we try to keep this all in mind. Our staff is extremely knowledgeable about our products and can help you find the right foods for your specific allergies.
